It is very easy to instill scientific approach in children as small as an year old. I have 2 kids of my own and I raise them giving them as many chances to think scientifically as possible. Whether we approach through arts or experiments.... or visually or orally it is us who introduce our kids to the outside world...Through these blogs I would like to discuss about different easy ways to do that..
Let me start with a baby say from 9 months to 1-yr old one:
-Fill one small leak proof plastic can half with water.Another one with some cheerios and the other one with a pencap. Give the three cans to him and see him shake them and he'll tell you which kind of sound he prefers.
-Fill a ziplc partially with water and another one with rice, seal and give it to the baby and he'll tel you which feels better.
-Lets talk about rhythm...it is very easy to make bablies respond to rhythms and develop their grey matters in their brains. Walk with the baby in your hand everyday for atleast 15 minutes in a pattern or rhythm...Say out the pattern loud..like 1,2,1,2 or 12,123,12,123,12,123
(while you say 12 keep a step and while you say 123 keep another step..so both legs are still for different lengths of time but the pattern is repeated)..or 1234,1,1234,1....etc...Watch your child listen to it keenly and with lot of thrill.Do these activities when the baby in a perfect mood...after a nap , food or anytime hes happy..
This exercise will develop a sense of involvement and will also increase concentration in babies.
